Volunteer with
Forgotten Felines of Sonoma County

We are excited to talk with you about volunteering at our organization. Please note that as we are not a shelter or a rescue so options for minor volunteers under the age of 18 are limited. The examples down below are some of the major ways our volunteers help. Most roles do require a commitment of at least 6 months. However we do have some positions that are on-call or as-needed.

Please complete our Volunteer Application if you are interested in volunteering. You can also email info@forgottenfelines.com with any questions.

Trappers

*Priority Need*

Complete Application

If you are looking for a way to be involved hands-on with cats, trapping could be for you. Trapping is the first step in our goal to spay/neuter every unowned cat in Sonoma County. Training for this volunteer role is provided.

Trappers can work in a family or friend team, or solo. Are you persistent? Patient? Determined? Focused? Like the outdoors (rain or shine)?  If you answered "yes" to any of the above, we'd love to talk with you.

Fosters

*Priority Need*

Complete Application

We need foster families to help bottle feed, tame and socialize kittens as well as those who can foster adults in need too!

We also urgently need Forever Fosters and Fospice. Both of these types of fostering roles require a larger time commitment with a certain comfort level in administering medicines and providing palliative care and a supportive home environment for these special needs kitties.

Laundry Angels

Complete Application
Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to teach our cats how to use a washing machine. Until we crack that nut, pick up a bag of laundry (or two) and they will be eternally grateful. This role requires coming to our office once a week to collect lightly soiled towels, sheets, and cage drapes then cleaning, folding, and returning them to our office.
