VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION

We are excited to talk to you about volunteering at our organization. Please note that as we are not a shelter or a rescue or options for minor volunteers under the age of 18 are limited. The examples down below are some of the major ways our volunteers help. Most roles do require a commitment of at least 6 months. However we do have some positions that are on-call or as-needed.

Please click here and fill out the form if you are interested in volunteering. You can also email info@forgottenfelines.com with any questions.

Laundry Angels

Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to teach our cats how to use a washing machine. Until we crack that nut, pick up a bag of laundry (or two) and they will be eternally grateful. Complete Application here for more information.

Trappers

*Priority Need* If you are looking for a way to be involved hands-on with cats, trapping could be for you. Trapping is the first step in our goal to spay/neuter every unowned cat in Sonoma County. Training for this volunteer role is provided.
-Trappers can work in a family or friend team, or solo.
-Are you persistent? Patient? Determined? Focused? Like the outdoors (rain or shine)? Goal-oriented?
-Requirements: must be able to carry a trapped cat, have a vehicle, be 18+, able to bend/stoop/kneel to traps on the ground. A teen volunteer would need to be in a Trapper Team with their parent/guardian.
-If you are a true animal person, ready & willing to learn, we are excited to train you!

Clinics are held on Mondays and Wednesdays, so trapping takes place Sunday and/or Tuesday afternoons/evenings. The trapper typically holds the cats overnight (in the trap and usually stored in a garage or bathroom),  then drops them off at clinic between 7:30-8:30 am the next morning. Pickup would be later in the afternoon the day of the clinic appointment. Complete Application here for more information.

Fosters

We need foster families to help tame and socialize kittens as well as those who can foster adults in need too! Complete Application here for more information.

Retail Therapists

Pick of the Litter provides retail therapy to its customers and much needed funds to Forgotten Felines. Complete Application here for more information.
