Volunteer Program: Adoption Program Volunteer Title: Adoption Counselor


Job Description: Screen and counsel prospective adopters; match potential adopters with adoptable cats and kittens.

Job Qualifications: Must have volunteered for 6-10 months as a Forgotten Felines Cat Cuddler, Kennel Assistant, or PetsMart Liaison.

Volunteers must also be able to:
  • Follow directions and work within the guidelines of the Adoption Program.
  • Work under the direction of the Adoption Program Coordinator and with the Adoption Program Assistant.
  • Work cooperatively with other Volunteers, Shelter Staff, and the public.
  • Understand and be able to articulate FFSC Adoption Criteria.
  • Have reliable transportation.
  • Volunteer for a minimum of one four-hour shift (1-5 p.m.)/month.

Commitment and Hours: We ask that all volunteers consider no less than a six-month commitment to Forgotten Felines. Adoption Counselors can volunteer once a week, every other week or once a month depending on their schedule.

Training: One-on-one training is provided for this position.

Equipment and Supplies: Any supplies needed, will be provided.
