For the Love of Cats is a unique annual Sonoma County event held in Healdsburg at Rodney Strong Vineyards. The event will provide cat lovers an opportunity to acquire original and unique feline themed art pieces while participating in a celebration of all things feline to benefit the mission of Forgotten Felines. The event combines an art exhibit and auction with live music, dancing, local food and wine tasting.
The primary attraction of the event will be a silent auction of feline themed art. Local artists will showcase original oil and watercolor paintings, drawings, photographs, ceramics and other forms of art celebrating cats and the many ways they enhance the lives of people. Over 100 artists provided art for the 2006 auction raising over $45,000 for Forgotten Felines' programs and services. Many of the contributing artists will be in attendance at the event and will provide marketing materials for interested patrons.
Secondary to the art auction at the event will be silent and live auctions of local products and services donated by local businesses, including, for cat lovers, feline friendly products and services.
The event will also feature swing dancing on the open cellar floor accompanied by Swing and Miss, a local seventeen-piece swing band that has been playing for Sonoma County fundraisers and service organizations since 1996.
