Tame cat reunited with her family!

Fostering Junior and Noah

At a home foreclosure where we trapped and pulled nine feral cats/kittens, (See story at http://activerain.com/blogsview/1632598/forgotten-felines-of-sonoma-county-to-the-rescue ) we also trapped a tame cat. She was well taken care of, extremely tame and loving, but with no ID and unaltered. Since this was an abandoned house, we didn't know if she belonged to someone or had been left behind by the former owner. So, we fixed her and did our usual due diligence, found ad in PD, flyers, and sent her picture to the County Shelter to post on their web site.

On Friday, 5/14, a Mom and son went to the County shelter looking for their lost cat. They made their way through the shelter, room by room when they were stopped by a volunteer who asked them if they were interested in adopting. They replied, no, they were looking for their lost cat. The volunteer then told them not to leave the shelter until they looked through the pictures of all the "found" cats on the web site. They did and sure enough, there was a picture of "Moma Cat"(the picture that we had forwarded them for viewing). They called our offices, we asked all of the pertinent questions and invited them to come over and take a look. One hour later, "Moma Cat" went home with her family...all vaccinated, altered, microchipped, wormed, Advantaged, etc.

Now that's collaboration and a perfect example of how the system works for making happy endings! NOTE: While Moma Cat was with us, she "fostered", as if they were her own, two orphan kittens that at the time desperately needed her motherly ways. Seems as though at her real home, she mothers everything too - dogs, puppies, several litters of her own, and kittens that she finds and brings home - hence her name!

Happy Girl
