FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

September 20, 2007 12:27pm Update

Hello Everyone: The requests for Adam Updates continue to come in. As long as you're interested, I'll continue sending them.

Adam spent last Wednesday (9/12/07) here with us at our office during our Spay/Neuter Clinic. Tina, his foster mom is one of our Vet Techs and he watched and played and entertained all of us in between taking care of the 60 cats we altered that day. He is just adorable. His face is fuller, his fur is growing in and his little personality is just as endearing as ever. We had a mini fashion show as he modeled the numerous little t-shirts that have been sent to him by his admirers. Some he'll have to grow into, but most were a perfect fit and he has quite a wardrobe now.

On Thursday (9/13/07), I accompanied Tina to Animal Care Center where Adam had a check up with his surgeon, Dr. Lisa Alexander. Fur is growing from his skin grafts which is awesome, but we're still working on regulating his stools. Due to the damage that was done to his bottom, his little behind will never be normal. Until the fine tuning to his elimination issues are under control he is still under the care of his veterinarian.

In the meantime, Tina is working on socializing Adam with Gabrielle, her Doberman. Up to this point, Adam has not accepted "Gabby" which has impacted Tina's relationship with her dogs. Before Adam, Tina and her dogs went everywhere together. Once Adam entered the picture, the dogs have had to stay home - and nobody (except Adam) is happy about this lifestyle change. We ALL would love to see Adam and Tina stay together, but that may not be feasible nor in the best interest of everyone -Tina, Adam and her dogs, Gabrielle and Pebbles. Tina has sacrificed way beyond what anyone ever expected for Adam's sake and we will be forever grateful. The last thing we want is to ask or expect more than is comfortable for her or for Adam. Rest assured, we won't place Adam in any home that isn't completely suited to his needs Ð medical, social and it goes without saying - filled with love for our precious little fighter.

Although we don't know how the case against the two teenage girls who burned Adam is progressing. We do know that it IS progressing. I'm presuming that I won't hear anything until it is actually over and a decision has been made.

We've heard from many folks who continue to "get involved" because of Adam's case. Folks have started volunteering at their local shelter "because of Adam". Others have adopted a new family member from their local shelter "because of Adam". And, we continue to use the funds in our Fluffy fund to assist other equally deserving cats have a more comfortable life "because of Adam".

You can see a new video and some recent pictures on the Press Democrat web site at www.pressdemocrat.com. Go to the video section at the bottom of the home page and you'll see him there.

In addition to being eternally grateful to Tina and Dr. Alexander and a whole host of other folks who assisted behind the scenes, we also feel the same way about you. During some dark and tenuous moments, your support is what helped to pull Adam and Forgotten Felines through this life changing experience. Best wishes to you allÉ..You haven't heard the last from us!

Fondly,
Jennifer
