FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

June 27, 2007 6:41pm Update Last night he went home with the vet tech who said he purred and kneaded through the night, played with a toy, continues to eat like a champ and has started grooming his little paws. I went to visit him today at Animal Hospital of Cotati and he is doing SO much better. Everyone there thinks he has turned a corner, although the recovery will be a long one. He talks to you when you talk to him and although he still looks pretty rough, his eyes are bright and he is very responsive.

A reporter and cameraman from Channel 5, KCBS came up from SF today. Don't know exactly when it will be aired, but he should get some coverage. (He squawked during the whole interview!)

Spoke with the two officers investigating the incident from Animal Care & Control. They do have leads and say that every child in that complex is searching for the missing trap. The reward has caused quite a stir and donations from the residents continue to come in.

MWI, the medical supply distributor that we use is giving all of Adam's supplies FREE of charge. IDEXX, the diagnostic company that we use is doing all of Adam's blood work for FREE. One of the specialists from Animal Care Center was going to visit Adam today in order to help assess his progress.

Still no word about the missing trap or the other kittens.

We are touched and extremely grateful at the outpouring of donations and well wishes for Adam's recovery. Today at our Thrift Shop, Pick of the Litter, 8 year old Cody came in with his mother carrying a hand drawn picture of a black kitten playing with a ball and a note that read "I'm sorry that hapend to the kitten. Here is $10 to buy toys and some shrimp. I hope when he gets better he looks like this." (In an envelope he had the $10 and five shrimp treats.)

Thank you very much..until tomorrow

Jennifer

P.S. Today we held one of our spay/neuter clinics and altered 18 females and 8 males. This brings our total so far for the year to: *536 cats altered through our spay/neuter clinics

*This figure does NOT include the many cats we have altered through our private veterinarian partners in between spay/neuter clinic dates.
