Volunteer Program: Adoption Program Volunteer Title: Kennel Assistant


Job Description: Provide fresh food and water; clean cages, litter boxes and bedding; and socialize our adoptable cats and kittens.

Job Qualifications: Volunteers must be reliable, observant, conscientious, cat savvy and have strong backs.

Volunteers must also be able to:
  • Follow directions and work within the guidelines of the Adoption Program.
  • Work under the direction of the Adoption Program Coordinator and/or the Adoption Program Assistant.
  • Work cooperatively with other Volunteers and Shelter Staff.
  • Recognize and report any signs of illness or injury in adoptable cats and kittens.
  • Perform a variety of physical activities such as: carrying litter pans, kneeling, cleaning out cages, lifting food buckets, moping floors, and doing laundry.
  • Have reliable transportation.
Commitment and Hours: We ask that all volunteers consider no less than a six-month commitment to Forgotten Felines. Kennel Assistants volunteer in the mornings, for a two-hour shift once a week, every other week, or once a month depending on their schedule.

Training: One-on-one training is provided for all volunteer positions

Equipment and Supplies: All supplies needed will be provided.
