If you like bakery goods, this is the girl for you - she could spend all day "making biscuits". O’Hura had been living in a rental car parking lot for over 10 years. She was provided food by employees, but that is about it. We got a call from one of our volunteers that her nephew contacted her about a cat that was in bad shape. She immediately went out, found that he was right and she did not look good, so she scooped O’Hura up and brought her directly to us here at Forgotten Felines.
We quickly found that O’Hura was tame, very sweet and definitely an elder. Sadly, she was one big thick mat of fur with oodles of foxtails embedded all over her body. Even still she let us give her a thorough examination in which we discovered a very painful condition called "Stomatitis". Stomatitis is a bacterial infection in the gums which makes it very painful to eat, drink and groom. She had a dental and had all her teeth removed in hopes this will help clear up the stomatitis
Since her visit to Animal Hospital of Sebastopol, where they did her dental and removed all the remaining foxtails that had imbedded in her skin, she has become happy and sweet and is feeling like a million bucks, though she still is shy and wary, which comes from living so long on your own. She enjoys wet and dry food and is looking for someone who will be kind enough to take her in give her the love she so much deserves and let her spend the rest of her life inside where it is warm and safe.
Ohura is waiting to meet you at our administration office in Santa Rosa. If you're a Senior, O'Huru's adoption fee is sponsored by Paws for Love under their "Silver Paws" elderly cat program which allows a Senior Human to adopt a Senior Cat and they will cover the fee.
